Ten years ago, when we were both 60, we did something brave (and at the time some thought foolish). We moved to Florence, Italy. We announced to family and friends that we were going to have a one-year adventure, but by the time we were ready to leave we knew it was going to be longer. We did not, however, realize that we would make this our home…..it kind of just happened, the way life just happens. This blog is a back and forth view of our adventure……some backward glances at our early days here, some future dreams, some current entanglements ( which you can be certain to have if you live in Italy). The food is wonderful, the country is beautiful, and even though sometimes it seems like nothing at all works here and we miss our daughters, we love our life and that is rather the ultimate goal, isn’t it?
We’ve had a number of interesting work incarnations between us so we have many interests that will feature prominently here but really, it’s just a chronicle of the happy life of two souls who were lucky enough to meet up early in the game and who then stuck it out together for a whole lifetime. Welcome to our world.
