I used to think that the grass always seemed greener on the other side of the fence…..I’m sure I thought that after years of hearing my parents use that phrase as they tried to instill in me a sense of appreciation for what I had and a little less interest in what others had. It didn’t always work. After this sabbatical year of travel, however, returning once again to Tuscany has dispelled any such rumors. Appreciate your own green, wherever it is, and while it’s wonderful to admire the incredible beauty to be found in other parts of the world, let your own spot shine as your safe harbor.
There is so much blogging yet to be done, but alas it’s going to have to wait a bit……..we have touched down in Florence just long enough to switch suitcases and head off to Greece where we intend to sincerely and earnestly celebrate our 50th anniversary!
We’re going to fly, take a ferry boat to a small island, let a donkey help us lug our bags to the top of a cliff, and otherwise enjoy some time to just simply be together. See you again in June.
Is the grass always greener………..?
