It’s rainy. It’s chilly. It’s Friday night. Let’s stay home and make pizza. Sounded like a good idea so that’s what we did. We love to make pizza at home and why not with the ingredient options we have. There’s bietola (a bitter green) and sweet onions from the greengrocer on the corner, sausages made today at the deli/restaurant down the street and fresh mozzarella delivered to the butcher this morning. The sauce is made by blending crushed tomatoes with olive oil, oregano, salt and pepper. The pizza dough came from the bakery section of our local market. So………twenty minutes of chopping, making the sauce, rolling out the dough produces………………..
this absolutely delicious pizza dinner. Nice bottle of Sicilian red wine uncorked. Slippers on. Fire blazing. Netflix cued up for a movie. This is how all weekends should begin!
