Lots of new, very posh shops are making a splash in Florence along the fashionable Via Tornabuoni and while we were out walking today (in the rain) we noticed a very interesting trend in retail decor.  The door handles are becoming little works of art……or at least statement pieces relating to the goods found on the other side of the door.  The Woolrich door, for example, very cleverly suggests whether you should be pushing or pulling on your way in to see the luxury wool goods……….

while across the street the knockout gem and gold jewelry displays in the Pomellato store lie behind a gigantic gold band…..makes me think of a very seriously committed wedding ring!
